Biography:
One of the biggest names in the motorsports world is also one of the longest serving teams in the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. They kicked off their Formula E campaign with a podium in the inaugural race, the 2014 Beijing E-Prix, scored by Franck Montagny and went on to take 3 more podiums during that first season. Their first win came in season 5, courtesy of Antonio Felix da Costa, and since then the likes of Alex Sims, Maximilian Günther, and Jake Dennis have all won races for the legendary name – with the latter of those being Andretti’s first Formula E drivers’ champion! Andretti’s highest championship finish came in season 9, when they finished 3rd.
Andretti is unique in Formula E for two reasons, the first is that they are the only team to have fielded a female driver for a full season so far (Simona de Silvestro piloted their #28 car during season 2) and they’re also the only team to have fielded American drivers, with Matthew Brabham, Marco Andretti, Scott Speed, and Oliver Askew all representing the stars and stripes with the team.
The team has retained their championship winning driver Jake Dennis for season 11, with the British driver set to see his 6th teammate in 5 years as recently announced Porsche factory driver Nico Müller joins the American squad.
